Any e-business application requiring near-real-time interchange of information across networks (Local Area Network and Wide Area Network [public or private]) and across different security domains will benefit from Beryllium. The interchanged information could be modern structured data (i.e. MIME, XML); legacy structured data (EDI and proprietary formats); binary data of any size; multi-part or compound files; or files with additional header or descriptive data. It is also expected that Beryllium will enable many completely new applications that cannot be feasibly implemented using any existing technology. All of the possible applications for this technology cannot be enumerated in any reasonable size document but the following is a partial list:
- Event driven applications processing
- Information distribution in a peer-to-peer network
- Exchanging data among disparate applications or computing environments
- On-demand secure delivery of financial or insurance related data
- Secure distribution of medical records including images
- Global order processing
- Dissemination of critical advisories
- Parts and supplies related communications
- Intelligence related communications
- Emergency management communications
- EDI communications
